Persian perfumes and attars were botanicals distilled directly into Sandalwood oil. The most famous of these sacred blends is is the rose attar. Compass rose is a modern interpretation of attar combining the precious oils of Rose and Sandalwood with uplifting citrus notes. The blend is accented with Styrax, a warm and resinous botanical. The perfume is available in different dilutions to fit your needs and budget.

Dilutions depend upon the component in the materials, but they are approximately as follows: Attar (solid perfume) 11-15% dilution; Alcohol perfume 9-10 % dilution; Aromatherapy 2% dilution.

Our attars are blended using jojoba and beeswax direct from Bird's and Bees farm. Their beeswax is very aromatic because they do not press all the honey out of beeswax. The complex aroma adds to the blending challenge but results in a beautiful solid perfume. Beeswax also serves as a fixative to perfume and adds the longevity on the skin.

How to Use

As with any product, patch test on skin for sensitivity. Wear on pulse points.

Compass Rose botanicals blend: Rose absolute (Rosa Damascena), Sandalwood essential oil (Santalum album), Hinoki essential oil (Chamaecyparis obtusa), Siam essential oil (Fokienia hodginsii), Bergamot essential oil (Citrus aurantium var. amara), Geranium essential oil (Pelargonium graveolens), Lime essential oil (Citrus aurantiifolia), Clove (Eugenia caryophyllata), Styrax extract (Styrax benzoin).

Attar Compass Rose (11-14% dilution of botanical blend in organic jojoba and locally sourced beeswax)

Perfume Compass Rose (8-12% dilution of botanical blend in perfumer's alcohol)

Aromatherapy Compass Rose (2% dilution of botanical blend in organic fractionated coconut oil)
